Giving Thanks

Today is Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for this year. I have a wonderful husband, family, and friends. Both Eric & I have good jobs and a lifestyle that allows us to have our toys and hobbies.

Today I was thinking about the children that the Make A Wish Foundation help. They are helping children who are not able to do all of the things that my life and health allow me to do.

Taking that into consideration I decided to step it up a little today. I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 1/2 hour (2 miles), then I rode the bike for an hour (15.6 miles). I struggled as I exercised today. I just tried to remind myself of all the people in the world who physically can't walk or ride a bike. All the people in the world who don't have a house to live in, let alone the time to just exercise for fun.

I'm thankful for my life, family and friends.

Still moving

Well it's been a long day getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Eric & I had to get the house cleaned, so I missed kickboxing class. I made sure I did do something tonight. I biked 11 miles in 40 minutes. I just have to make sure not to overeat tomorrow.

Housework burns calories too, right?

Feeling Good

I kicked butt today. I went to yoga and felt so good when I came home. I jumped on the bike and watched the rest of 'Biggest Looser'. I biked for one hour (18 miles). I got off the bike and still feel great. I love when I have workouts like this.

Good Day

I had a pretty good day today. I biked 50 minutes (14.2 miles). I actually wanted to ride a little more, but I had to get ready for Cardio Kickboxing class.

Just keep pedaling

I biked 45 minutes this morning (12 miles).  I'm not too worried about my speed yet (although I'm going to need to get faster at some point).  I'm more worried about the boredom.  I wanted to bail after 15 minutes, just because I was bored.  It's different when I bike outside the scenery changes.  I'm going to have to find something on TV to focus on while I'm riding indoors.  Until I find something, I just have to tell myself to just keep pedaling.

Trying to get started

I rode the bike Tuesday for 20 miles.  I was restless for the first 5 miles or so.  I settled in after that.  I did take a couple of short breaks to grab some water.

I went to cardio kickboxing Wednesday night and my inner thighs were killing me by Thursday night.  I tried to ride Thursday night, but only rode 8 miles.  I stopped 3 times to stretch my legs.

I'm not sure how to get this whole training thing started.  I've been trying to find some sort of schedule on the internet.  Something to help me figure out what my weekly goals should be.  I have found some information, but no luck in finding an actual training schedule for a 300 mile tour.  I did find one for a 100 mile ride.  I'll keep looking and in the mean time I'll ride as much as I can.

What was I thinking?

What did I just commit to? I just starting riding a bicycle in the Spring and bought a road bicycle a couple of months ago. The furthest I've gone at one time is 20 miles (and I only did that once). Now I have signed up for the Make a Wish Foundation's "Wish a mile 300 mile bicycle tour". I must be nuts.
